GIVE.
Giving is always the first way that you can Live United. Why not make a
resolution to save your change throughout the year and convert it to cash
and donate that to the United Way? In this economy more and more of our
agencies are facing the dilemma of higher demand for services with few
donations. Your donation, no matter what size will be combined with others
to help increase the organized capacity of our community to care for its
people.

VOLUNTEER. Resolve to
serve this year. The Volunteer Center has numerous opportunities for
everyone and there are a few major events coming up including the King Day
of Service which is even being honored by President Elect Barack Obama and
the Daytona 5K.

spread the word about the United Way and the great works that it’s doing
every day!

Combine your
resolutions! Did you already make a resolution to exercise more? If
so, why not combine your resolutions by walking in the Daytona 5K and help
raise money for the United Way!

Help people get
connected. Many of us know of
people who could really use a little help but don't know how to get them the
help that they need. Start by pointing them in the right direction. Tell
them to call First Call for Help by dialing 2-1-1. They will get connected
to a certified Information and Referral Specialist who can help to connect
them to services offered right in our community.

Out with the old and in
with the new! Did you get a new cell phone or electronic for Christmas
and now you don’t know what to do with your old phone? Did you know that
you can donate it to the United Way! We also accept many other types of
donations including cars! Many people are finding that getting the tax
deduction for their donated car better than what they would get if they
traded it in!
Many of our agencies are often looking for donations of everything from
school supplies to food to blankets and clothing. Dial 2-1-1 to find where
you donations will do the most good.
